Why is El Dorado Hills Soap different than other soaps?
Let's start with the basics... the ingredients!
Base oils and butters are all Certified Organic:
* Olive Oil - Extra Virgin (Organic)
* Coconut Oil - Virgin (Organic)
* Palm Oil (Organic, RSPO-Certified, Palm Done Right)
* Cocoa Seed Butter (Organic, Fair Trade)
* Shea Nut Butter - Virgin (Organic)
* Castor Oil (Organic)
All bars are made using the above plant based ingredients. Essential oils, fragrances, colorants and natural exfoliants used will be listed in the description of each soap. Every batch and bar will have a slightly different look because they are handmade and hand poured. The palm oil is RSPO certified and meets the Palm Done Right certifications. Additionally, all soap bars are packaged in biodegradable Biolefin shrink wrap.
Jeanette Eavis Marquis
This is my mom, Jeanette - founder of El Dorado Hills Soap. She began making soap in 2008 hoping that if she used quality oils and butters her sensitive skin would feel better. It worked! She quickly turned this new hobby into a business. She was an Advanced Level Handcrafted Soap and Cosmetic Guild Soapmaker with an eye for beautiful color combinations and an ability to mix various essential oils into an aromatic experience.
My mom formulated our current blend of oils and butters used for all of our soap recipes over the course of four years - she wanted a bar that would lather well, gentle on the skin and hard enough to last a decent amount of time.
This soap business was my mom's passion. She really enjoyed seeing returning customers, meeting new ones and explaining in great detail the "process" of cold processed soap making. Her face would light up every time she had returning customer.
I am continuing my moms lovely soap business. I was her assistant behind the scenes for many years. And, if you met her at a craft fair - chances are I was sitting in the chair next to her. I hope her soaps bring you as much joy as they brought the best mom ever- my mom Jeanette.
